Trip to the botanical gardens

Canning!!!

A friend called and said she picked all the apricots from her tree and wanted to know if we wanted any. We went over and picked a really big box of fruit.

Jeff and the boys went to work cleaning, pitting and chopping. Kellsie watch zofia, Lukas Sat at the table and ate mass amounts of apricots and I
Packed, cooked and canned, with everyones help.

After 1 1/2 days if work...

29 pints of apricot jam, dried apricots, apricots in syrup and apricot butter. Plus 5 1/2 quarts of apricot strawberry syrup that are processing and about 20 pints of apricot strawberry freezer jam.

Peaches are next! We have a smaller box of those. Kellsie wants to make
Peach strawberry jam and fruit leather.

Logan's project

Logan made a bullish board with a holder for his wallet. Now he is painting it!

Jake made a drum at scout camp. Zoe thought it was way cool. They both played together for a while!

The kids started painting things for Christmas!

So the water heater keeps goring out. The dryer broke an the door to my van needs a replacement part. Rain, rain go away!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our anniversary. 15 years together. Crazy how fast time goes. It feels like yesterday that we were dating. Four states and five kids latter...

Life is good. We own our own home. Own both our cars. Kids go to great schools. Take fun vacations. Toto
Church every Sunday and go on dates every week. Life is good.

I'm grateful to be married to my best-friend! I love you jeff!

Kids photo shoot

My friend Tina wanted some new pictures for her studio. She asked if my kids would do a photo shoot. She found a really cool place to take pictures.  The kids were excited to take their skateboards and do some fun things. Tina is so good working with kids. Lukas liked to do his own thing and she worked with him. It was great and I love the pictures!!!

Jakob and cub scout camp

JAkob is at his first cub scout day camp this week. He was a little scared the night before, but when I picked him up the first day, he couldn't stop talking about all the fun! It's a jungle theme this year. So they have lots of people bring animals to show and teach the boys. They are working on their science belt loop and their bike and kick ball belt loop. That was just day one.

After I took Jakob, I saw that Logan could help as a youth leader. I ran home and picked him up and brought him back to camp. He is helping with the bikes. Teaching the boys how to fix chains, tires, etc. He helped teach 4 boys how to ride without training wheels and then he takes them on rides all over the camp. He is loving it! But I don't have any pictures. SAD!

Jakob

So my little boy is going to his first camp. Tue to Friday. It's just a day camp, so I'll have him back at night. But I am sure going to miss him!

Kellsie

Kellsie is at young women's camp this week. The house is not the same without her. And camping was a little weird without our whole family. Kellsie comes home tomorrow and I'm totally excited to hear all the stories!

Jakob has day camp next week and Logan has an over night camp in august. Summer is slower than last year. Which gives us lots more time to do the things we want to do.

Camping

We went camping wed to thurs. We had so much fun! Only took a couple pics with my phone. I'll have to upload the ones taken with Jeffs phone latter.

Boys fished a lot, but didn't catch anything. Which is good because lukas' favorite movie is nemo and we went sure how he was going to take the eating of a fish.

Zoe loved being outside! Kept looking around and enjoying the birds.

After a freezing night we woke up to a family of cows. Lukas,Zoe and I sat and watched them for about 1/2 hour.
Then jeff took them to watch the cows before we left.

Logan and Jakob both started all the fires and kept them
Going. nice to have boys old enough to help with the camping work. Setting up tents is a lot easier with two strong boys helping!

Lukas did a lot of work too. And he adapted to camping rules really quick. He did
Have a problem at bed time. He went into the tent and took all his clothes off and wanted to
Sleep. Jeff tried to explain that we can't just sleep in diapers while we r camping. Jeff distracted him buy roasting him marshmallows.

Took Kellsie to camp today. She will come back Saturday. She's with all the girls from church. She's going to have so much fun! But I already miss her.

I am in the car at Walmart. Jeff picking up marshmallows and ice. The rest of us are going camping too. Lukas is so excited! Jeff bought him his own fishing pole! This will be the younger kids first time camping. Well be back tomorrow.
